It was a rainy night,
I heard my parents' whispers
Their chattering and chuckles
But nothing I could infer
I next morning was brighter
My Father much happier,
Mommy loved me more,
and everywhere there was happiness and laughter.
Mommy hugged me and putting my hands on her belly,
Into my ears she whispered,
"You are no loner going to be lonely"
'Coz they were going to bring for me a Brother.
They put cradles in my room,
And made space for my li'l brother
Daddy brought toys for him
And mommy spun for him a sweater.
It was another raining night,
Daddy brought mommy home from clinic
He was relieved,
But I could sense in mommy's eyes
Pain and deep anguish.
Her feet were heavy
With the weight of the Mortal sin,
Her heart was sinking,
And she was broken deep within.
I saw tears in her eyes.
Pain and agony writ large all o'er her face
My father was successful,
In stopping to bring to his family, "Another Disgrace"
I sensed it all
And the picture was clear,
That they got rid of the child,
For she was "Another Daughter"
"She was washed away" They say,
Her womb was cleaned,
She was gone "My Unborn Sister"
My mother's womb was her grave.
She could sense,
Deep within her swamp-like belly,
Bits and pieces of her dead child.
She could feel it,
The stinking smell of dead decadent meat.
She knew my "Unborn Sister" was not gone
She was there,haunting her,
Debilitating her already wounded soul
Asking her every now and then-
"Why couldn't you take a stand?"
"Why couldn't you save your own daughter?"
"Why couldn't you stop this manslaughter?"
These questions were eating her away,
She didn't know how to tell her-
"My dear child, it was mother within me
That was strangled to death
Much before you were slain"
But I could see it in her benumbed eyes.
And knew it for sure,
It wasn't just my unborn sister who was killed,
but a "Mother" was killed that day.
I heard my parents' whispers
Their chattering and chuckles
But nothing I could infer
I next morning was brighter

Excellent thought of writing your feelings in words. Loved it.
