Independent Girl

This is another one very close to my heart...Itz simple..coz it was written way back in 2003...I wrote it coz I felt it...With so many female friends,I could sense their worries,their hopes,and their concerns....and I wrote this...This is dedicated to all of my female friends...who helped me become a human being(not just a man )...I learnt a lot many things from 'em..specially forgiveness...Coz I believe it is something only a woman is bestowed with..A man can never be as forgiving as a woman....

I am an independent girl
I have some dreams
I want to fill my life
With fun until it brims.

From the very outset,
I was compelled to be dependent.
In this male-dominated society,
I was merely a servant....

To my family and home,
I was always confined,
"This is only your world"
Was put into my mind

But now with education,
I've set myself free
I want to compete,
And keep pace with thee...

I need equality,
Equal love and care,
I,too,want to breathe
In the open air.

I want to fly
high up in the sky,
I want to see everything,
Distant or nearby...

I am an independent girl,
I'm not your foe,
After all we are the creation of the same God,
A little different though!!
